Frequently Asked Questions about
Anger Solutions™

What’s the difference between Anger Solutions and anger management?
To get the detailed response to this question, download this FRE*E Report entitled: “Anger Solutions vs. Anger Management”.

How do you know the Anger Solutions™ Program works?

The Anger Solutions™ program has a proven track record, having been in use by a variety of agencies for over 10 years. The program combines the best of several evidence-based practices including CBT, REBT, Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. The tools we use to measure program success include the Anger Solutions™ Intake and Exit survey (pre- and post-test), the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and the Clinical Anger Scale. Results from our outcome measures show a consistent increase in self esteem for all AS participants, a reduction or elimination of target behaviours, a reduction in alcohol dependency and risk-taking behaviours. We also note a link between AS and one’s ability to master basic lifeskills. Our success rate over 12 years has remained consistently above 80% (that is to say of all the participants who complete the program, over 80% of them experience and maintain the outcome measures described above). With the Anger Solutions Coaching Program, our success rate so far is 100%.

Are your program’s outcomes published in any trade journals?

Not yet. In our first 10 years, the focus was on program delivery and refinement, not research. We are currently conducting several pilot projects within our Authorized Provider agencies, as well as working on research papers that will be introduced for publication in the near future.

Who can Anger Solutions™ help?

The program was originally created for people with SMIs (Severe Mental Illness) but has been adapted and used successfully in the following settings:
-          Acquired Brain Injury (1 on 1)
-          Addictions
-          Community Corrections (both adult and youth, and female corrections programs)
-          Family counseling
-          Marriage/couples counseling
-          Individual coaching
-          School/Educational settings

The primary 3 targets for using Anger Solutions™ in a group setting are:
-          Addictions
-          Corrections
-          Mental Health

I don’t have fit any of the primary targets for Anger Solutions™. Does this mean I can’t benefit from the program?
Absolutely not! This program is highly adaptive, and is now available in a coaching format, which is ideal for people who would rather receive one-on-one service as opposed to attending a group. You can also partake in our TransformED Coaching live, or by phone, and this incorporates Anger Solutions along with two of our other extremely successful programs, Getting Past Your Past, and Stress Busters.

Where can I find an Anger Solutions™ group to attend?

Call Leverage U at 905-329-6169 to get more information about the Anger Solutions coaching model, and to get connected to a service provider in your area

What kind of support is available to Anger Solutions™ Facilitators and Trainers?

We have created the Canadian Association of Anger Solutions™ Professionals as a central resource for promoting the professionalism and continuing education of Anger Solutions™ practitioners. We conduct regular 1 hour tele-classes for continuing education, and the association holds one major retreat per year. Leverage U also publishes a monthly newsletter that goes out to all Anger Solution™ practitioners, “Anger Solutions Coaches Corner”, that provides updates on training, tips, best practices, and reports from other agencies. And, of course, you can always contact Leverage U directly for help and support at adminATangersolution.com.

Are the Facilitator and Trainer programs accredited for any CEUs?

Yes. The One Day Bootcamp is accredited for 6 hours of Continuing Education with the Canadian Addictions Counsellors Certification Federation. The T3 program is accredited for 10 hours of CEUs with the CACCF. Several of our corporate programs are accredited for CEUs with RIBO (Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario).

I am not a counselor, but I am interested in attending one of your training programs for personal reasons. Can I still come?

In order to protect the integrity of the program and its use, we have strict guidelines and pre-requisites regarding who can attend our Anger Solution™ Training Programs. Please see our “Policies and Procedures” page, http://www.angersolution.com/procedures.php for details. If you are looking at Anger Solutions™ for personal reasons, a better choice for you would be to choose either group counseling or individual coaching.

Is Anger Solutions available in other languages?
If you are attending a group and would like to have a workbook provided in either French or Spanish, these are available for you. We currently have (French/English) bilingual facilitators and trainers available through certain of our Authorized Provider agencies. Call us at 1-866-754-6169 for further information.
